Vietnam RoHS legislation published

The legislation restricts the use of following hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment;
   1. Lead (Pb)
   2. Mercury (Hg)
   3. Cadmium (Cd)
   4. Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+)
   5. Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
   6. Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)

Draft Hazardous Substances (Classification, Packaging and Labelling) Rules published in India

Ministry of Environment & Forests accept public comments within a period of 60days from the date of its publication of Official Gazette (2011 July 8th).

India Plastic Waste (Management and Handling) Rules amended

The amended rules clarifies the definition of "carry bags" and clearly exempt packaging material from its application.

Ministerial Regulation on Soil and Groundwater Contamination within Factories drafted in Thailand

Department of Industrial Works proposed a draft version of ministerial regulation on soil and groundwater contamination criteria within factory.The draft ministerial regulation, that is composed of 13 articles, states that the level of contamination in soil and groundwater inside any factory must be within the risk level as designated by the secretary of industry.
